Automatic emergency detection
for every paddler.

The Problem

Recreational paddlesport participation has surged — and fatalities are rising with it, even as overall boating deaths decline. Most victims had minimal experience. No consumer product automatically detects a capsize and initiates an emergency response.

32.5%
Of all US boating fatalities involved paddlecraft in 2023 — up from 27.4% the year before
164%
Increase in paddleboard fatalities from 2023 to 2024, even as overall boating deaths fell
74%
Of paddling fatalities in 2022 involved paddlers with less than 100 hours experience

Salvara is a chest-mounted device worn on a life jacket. When the wearer separates from their kayak, onboard sensors and a passive tether link detect the incident automatically. The device connects via cellular — with satellite emergency notification as fallback — and initiates a structured emergency response without the paddler having to do anything.
